Package solutions

CAS-P.1

Provides a pushbutton operator panel (HMI) for monitoring and operation of the centrifuge.
There is no logic for safety interlocks.

CAS-P.2

Turnkey package for an economic solution. The local control panel enables to activate the centrifuge and the feed system. Included is the unbalance monitoring and a safety emergency shutdown pushbutton. Interlocks for rotor and pump motor are provided by the means of a control system. Process variables such as timers can be adjusted locally.

CAS-P.3

Turnkey package for higher requirements. A local operator panel (HMI) in either traditional "pushbutton" configuration or as a state of the art electronic display provides the interface between the operator and the control system. The PLC controller and additional control devices can be mounted in an additional enclosure to be placed in a control cabinet. The control system monitors and activates the entire centrifuge system including peripheral equipment. Process parameters can be adjusted easily utilizing the local operator panel in order to meet specific customer requirements.

CAS-P.4

Turnkey system with motor power packs included. A local operator panel (HMI) in either traditional "pushbutton" configuration or as a state of the art electronic display provides the interface between the operator and the control system. The PLC controller and power breakers for the motors are mounted in an additional cabinet to be placed in a control room. The control system monitors and activates the entire centrifuge system including peripheral equipment. Process parameters can be adjusted easily utilizing the local operator panel in order to meet specific customer requirements. The motors are started across the line utilizing heavy duty breakers and thermal protection devices.

CAS-P.5

Turnkey system with variable frequency drive. The local operator panel is equipped with a state of the art full color graphic display. The panel provides excellent monitoring, operating and troubleshoot features to the operating personnel. The PLC controller is mounted together with a heavy duty variable frequency drive (VFD) in an additional cabinet to be placed in a control room. The control system monitors and activates the entire centrifuge system including peripheral equipment. Process parameters can be adjusted easily utilizing the local operator panel in order to meet specific customer requirements. The speed of the motors can be adjusted for easy adaptation to changing process conditions. Using a VFD instead a standard across the line start for the motors reduces stress to the power circuits and the equipment. It also allows to operate the centrifuge more efficiently to reduce operating cost.

Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)

The capability to adjust the basket speed to changing operating conditions is an advantage.
In order to adapt quickly to new process conditions two operating parameters must be adjustable.
The pusher stroke rate on Ferrum centrifuges is manually adjustable by the means of a local regulator valve. Adjusting the basket speed accordingly results in an optimized process with higher product quality and increased throughput.

NOTE: In most cases the highest power consumption occurs during start-up of the centrifuge. Starting the centrifuge across the line means unnecessary stress on the equipment and lager power cables. Utilizing a VFD allows the motor to be down-sized by 20-30% allowing a more economic operation with reduced power consumption.
