FERRUM Ltd. was founded in 1917 in Rupperswil, Switzerland, as a modest mechanical manufacturing works which included a small metal casting facility. The early stages of its industrial activity saw FERRUM principally as a supplier of machines for the canning industry. Among others this activity was subsequently augmented by the industrial centrifuge business area.

FERRUM is a family owned company with currently 430 employees. The company is divided into five different business units which guarantees a healthy diversification and a very solid financial basis.

FERRUM Ltd. Business Area Centrifuge Technology

The production of FERRUM centrifuges started in the early 20th century with the development of centrifuges for the drying of clothes. The manufacturing of production centrifuges started in the 1940s as a result of the demand in the pharmaceutical industry in Basel, Switzerland. 
Today, with over 90 years experience in solid/liquid separation applications worldwide, FERRUM is a leading supplier of centrifuges to the pharmaceutical, chemical and petrochemical industries, specializing in centrifuges engineered to the customer’s specific requirements.

FERRUM has delivered over 2700 scraper and over 3500 pusher centrifuges for more than 300 different product applications around the world.
Across the globe a network of over 60 representatives, including various service competence centers, ensure worldwide local customer assistance. 

In the 1990s Ferrum took over the centrifuge business of Escher Wyss® so the product range then included continuously operated pusher centrifuges.

Our centrifuges are precision manufactured in Rupperswil, Switzerland and are directly supported by our service engineering department worldwide.

FERRUM Inc. USA

Our FERRUM Inc. subsidiary operates as the North American representative and distributor for the complete scraper and pusher centrifuge lines of FERRUM Ltd., including new sales, after sales and service capabilities.
The headquarters are located in Houston TX, supported by agents covering North America.
